FSG 63 Alarm, Signal and Security Detection Systems

To make it easier for our customers to find the parts they need, we have made our inventory searchable by part number and by National Stock Numbers (NSN). NSNs are 13-digits numbers assigned to items of the federal supply chain by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), and used by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). NSNs make classifying and organizing parts easier with their inherently systematic nature. The 13-digits are comprised of two parts, the first 4 digits are the Federal Supply Groups Code (FSGC) and the last 9 digits are the National Item Identification Number (NIIN). The FSGC is further comprised of two parts, the first 2 digits are the Federal Supply Group (FSG) and the last 2 digits are the Federal Supply Code (FSC).

Federal Supply Group 63, Alarm, Signal and Security Detection Systems, is comprised of several different kinds of alarm and signal systems for purposes such as traffic and transit, shipboards, railroads, and aircraft. Note that this FSG also includes security detection systems but does not include general detection systems, nor does it include LORAN, radar, sonar, or engine oil and fuel warning devices.
